According to Section 3. (1) of the MOTOR VEHICLES INSURANCE (THIRD-PARTY RISKS) ACT 48:51 “…it shall not be lawful for any person to use, or to cause or permit any other person to use, a motor vehicle or licensed trailer on a public road unless there is in force in relation to the user of the motor vehicle or licensed trailer by that person or that other person, as the case may be, such a policy of insurance...” Therefore, once you own a vehicle you are obligated by law to have at least Third Party Only Insurance for that vehicle. You can enhance the protection of your vehicle by electing to purchase a Fire & Theft policy or Comprehensive policy.
A Homeowners policy covers damage to your house as well as your personal liability to the public while on your property. You can include additional items under your policy such as Furniture, Appliances and Electronic Equipment.
Personal items like Jewellery, Smart Phones and Tablets (especially those for our kids) can be very costly to replace. You can protect them by including them under your Homeowners policy.
Own a Boat or Yacht? Damage to the Hull, theft of engines as well as damage to others caused by unfortunate accidents are just some of the unforeseen events that can happen. Make sure she’s adequately covered by a Pleasure Craft Insurance Policy.
We never seem to take this seriously enough but with all the horror stories of trips gone wrong you can take solace in the fact that there are policies that can protect you, your loved ones and your precious cargo on that special trip.
